Build, Install, LED Fabrication, Graphic Production
The Hockey Hall of Fame has recently unveiled a series of new interactive experiences within the TSN/RDS Broadcast Zone; the most recent being the new TSN SportsCentre Studio. This replica of the TSN SportsCentre Studio set offers guests an opportunity to test their sports anchor skills in front of a real camera and teleprompter. Holman worked with Terry Heard Designers and the Hockey Hall of Fame to build the replica TSN SportsCentre Studio to give attendees a simulated experience of being inside the broadcast zone. All performances are recorded via the Cisco GameCAM Video System, which allows participants to download and later share their clip online.
The Studio is LED lit to make it look like the real thing. A touchscreen located by the desk allows attendees to select one of three broadcast scenarios to narrate. A curved back wall with a graphic application creates the illusion of studio activity in the background.
Holman built and installed the desk, ceiling, raised acrylic flooring and overhead lighting. Each of the elements was created to replicate the real TSN SportsCentre Studio, thereby giving guests the “authentic” experience.
